The origins of the Spong family are still being uncovered, but we believe our distant ancestors may have come from Scandinavia. Those of us with a romantic imagination like to think there is a little Viking blood in our veins, although the evidence is still being explored. What we do know is that the Spong name has been established in England for many centuries, with generations of the family living, working and raising their families there.
